[PLAYER]

Name: bb
AIM/e-mail: oh deers / bbquirks at de gmail
Time Zone: MST/GMT -7

[CHARACTER]

Name: Martinique "Marty" Jason
Codename: N/A
Age: Twenty-two
Character Base: Mastermind (II)

Home Reality: Earth 300; Marty comes from a world where "super" heroes and villains don't exist. No Fantastic Four, Spider-man, Avengers, SHIELD, X-Men, etc. This is in part, because the number of mutants in the world are at 616 Decimation levels. Those who do have special talents or abilities keep them quiet or use them for personal gain on a mundane level.

Though not all is as well as it seems. Eric Lensherr has been secretly imprisoned for the past fifteen years. Though the details of how and who's responsible are unknown, Lensherr has a group of supporters, calling themselves Factor Three, intent on breaking him out. Meanwhile, scientist Bruce Banner, has started his work on the effects of gamma radiation.

What did this person do wrong to be pulled out by the Timebroker? Marty had no idea who her father or half-sister were. Jason Wyngarde approached his illegitimate daughter to join him in freeing Magneto from a secret prison. Marty would have naively accepted his offer when she was pulled by the Time Broker.

Appearance: At five-foot-one and barely 100 lbs Marty could be generously described at petite and unassuming. She has an innocent cherub face that makes her age hard to judge with large doe-brown eyes and dark brown hair. She tends to dress neatly, preferring ballet flats to heals.

PB: Ellen Page

Powers / Skills Able to create sensory illusions that affect all five senses of those the illusion is cast on, and have demonstrated some influence on extrasensory abilities as well. Her illusions can do real damage, including asphyxiation and bleeding from the pores. Like her half-sister Regan and unlike their father, Martinique also possesses limited telepathy which she uses to read minds on a basic level to fine-tune the accuracy of her illusions from victim to victim.

Weaknesses: Marty has no combat experience, and very little experience in using her abilities. Though she participated in soccer and track during her school years, she doesn't possess the olympic level skills of a traditional super hero. She will have to learn fast in order to keep up with her peers.

Marty is fearful of her own ability, having gotten herself and others caught up in convincing illusions to the point of questioning reality. She is also unable to effect machines, including surveillance equipment, with her powers as they only effect the human mind.

Personality:
With her lack of experience and knowledge of the multiverses' reoccurring villains and heroes, Marty isn't a bad judge of character as much as she is new. She's skeptical of the being trying to help her while naively wanting to accept the hand of a biological father with a just cause. With time, she's inquisitive enough to work through the situation she's been given and come to terms with it.

Marty isn't the kind of person to back down from an argument or to start one. She has no tolerance for egos or attitude problems. She sees herself as a bit of a girl scout.

Overview:
• Jason Wyngarde was on a secret mission for a covert organization known as Factor Three when he sustained serious injuries. He had a brief affair with his nurse, Leslie Jason, who gave birth to his illegitimate daughter, Martinique "Marty" Jason.

• Her mother never married, but Marty was comfortably provided for. Her biological father secretly sent money so that she could attend a private school in Boston, MA where she and her mother lived.

• Marty discovered her abilities as a teenager at first with her ability to pick up surface thoughts. The ability to create illusions came later, which were so real and all consuming she and her school friends were taken to a hospital and suspected of using drugs. It took three days for Marty to drop the illusion, releasing herself and her friends. When the drug screen came up clean all three girls in the incident were released. Only Marty realized she'd been the cause of it and vowed never to try her abilities again.

• As a bright student who took accelerated courses in math and science, she went on to double major in psychology and mathematics. Marty attended Stanford for her graduate degree and studied engineering.

• Her father decided to take a brief interest in his illegitimate daughter to discover whether or not she was "gifted." They met on campus where he offered to teach Marty how to better control her abilities so that she would not be afraid of them.

• Jason Wyngarde also told his daughter his mission was to free a man secretly imprisoned by the government for possessing special abilities. His fear, as he explained to his daughter, was that the government would discover others with fantastic abilities like themselves and secretly imprison or exterminate them.

• Marty accepted her father's offer of help, while also convinced that his cause was just. However, before she learned very much about her abilities she was pulled out of her world by the Time Broker.
